It Starts..

So basically here is the introduction..(you will have to excuse me..this is my first time attempting a blog)
Sometime in 2009 I was introduced to an Avacado. Well I shouldnt say introduced, but it was my first time really eating one and throughly enjoying it. AND BOY did i get HOOKED! So anyways, I was meeting up with old friends from high school. We decided to go to a local columbian restuarant. At this time I was in and out of my vegetarian 'status'. So i order Salmon with rice and beans. Little did I know that my taste buds were about to endeavor a whole new experience! lol (yes I guess that does sound like a fattie..i mean FOODIE). So I as I was unsure of what this green substance would taste like I tried to drown it with my salmon. To my surpise, I scarfed down that Avacedo without breathing. Actually, I ended up taking the salmon to go.
The next day all I could really think of was the soft texture and buttery flavor. So i decided to look for ways to COOK (lol) avacado and what I could eat it with. Hey, i didnt know any better! And boy did i find a ton of recipes, I found loaded gaucomole, Avacado sandwhiches, salads, Dips, Salsa, the list goes on! Which then brought me to raw food. I can remember eating an Avacado everyday until I couldnt stand them anymore LOL. (But dont worry I came back to them 2 months later.) I had made a black bean salad with corn, tomatoes, spinach, avacado..it was devine. I had also made a sandwhich with spinach, tomatoe, avacado, onions, olives, on oinion spelt bread..OMG i almost ate off my thumb!
Now in the mist of all this Avacado talk, there I was transitioning to natural hair. I had not made the full commitment, becuase I hadnt taken the time to learn how to properly care for my hair. SO in order to "loosen"my curl every 2months I would put a texturizer in ( which is nothing less than a SOMEWHAT mild relaxer). I thought i was doing myself a favor. I was sitll using the same products from when my hair was permed. I was wearing wigs, weaves everyday so the condition of my hair I really didnt notice until I decided to wash it.  To make a sweet story short :) of course like many of us naturals I stumbled upon youtube. During my search for "how to 'cook' an avacado". I discovered all this positive energy, and inspiration on HAIR, natural and unatural, afros, dreads,  beauty foods, raw foods. Anyone who knows me, knows ive always had a personal affair with hair. I dont know why.
To add on to my discoveries, a friend of mines brought to my attention an herbalist, holistic doctor. Known as Dr. Sebi. I googled him, I youtubed him, I yahooed him. "seek and you shall find" and what I found was the term alkaline. Which then lead me to knowledge of self.
So this is my journey to REdiscover me. All things that may have EXisted in my past, things that may be REcreated in my future, and the things that I PREsent in my presence. This is my journey to natural wealth :)
